Prom dress shopping is a magical experience. You get to step inside a glamorous boutique and be treated like a VIP. You get to try on lots of exquisite designer dresses and imagine yourself celebrating your school years with your friends feeling a million dollars.
To enhance the prom and graduation shopping experience for both mum and daughter, an experienced member of our team provides you with a personal service and helps you try on our beautiful collection of dresses. To avoided wasted journeys to our boutique, appointments are required to try on our gowns.
But prom 2024 is about 9 months away. Plenty of time do your prom dress shopping, right?

You need to do your prom dress shopping early to avoid disappointment and to select the perfect dress for you
Here’s our 4 early prom dress shopping tips:
1) Shopping early offers you exclusivity
At Midnight Elegance we offer a unique service for our prom and graduation girls – our aim is that each girl feels special on her big day. For peace of mind, we offer dress exclusivity. That means we will not sell the same dress to another girl attending the same event, not even in a different colour. You want to therefore shop early so you have the greatest choice to ensure nobody else from school has already snapped your favourite up!
2) Early prom dress shopping increases your choice
And what choice there is! We’re excited to show our 2024 graduating class the sparkles, the colours, the ruffles, mermaid style gowns, slip dresses and ball gowns of the 2024 prom season.
3) Selecting your prom gown now gives you time to think about accessories
Once you’ve selected your perfect prom dress you’ve got time to order shoes, book your hair and makeup, plan a headpiece or select jewellery.
4) Shopping early helps you select the colour for you
Pink is one of the colours that is really IN this season. Whether it’s hot pink, sweet pink, baby pink, candy pink…if you like pink we’ve definitely ordered something for you.
But what if your best friend also has pink as their favourite colour? With various shades of pink there is no reason why you and your bestie can’t both be in pink. We’ll just take a note of what each of you order when you come for your dress shopping appointment so you don’t turn up in the same gown (see point 1 about exclusivity on dresses at Midnight Elegance!)

Customers from all over Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and the wider North East of Scotland visit the Midnight Elegance boutique to purchase their special occasion dress. Many of our dresses are available in sizes 0-36, and range from £250 – £595.
The stock dresses we have arriving from our prom dress buying trip this summer will be with us in store by the October school holidays (16-27th October 2023 for Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City schools).
