4 wedding dress trends for 2027 brides (that us bridal stylists are salivating over)
We had a ball visiting Harrogate Bridal Buying Week 2025 – it’s always such a highlight of our year (so much so that we’ve written about Harrogate before). We get (more than!) a sneak peek of styles and trends on the bridal catwalk and get the opportunity to make some orders for the things we know our brides are going to love. Designs revealed at Harrogate often determine what brides will wear in the upcoming season. And what a delight it was again this year. The wedding dress trends for 2027 brides are “eye-poppingly wow” as our owner and head bridal stylist Kathy described it!
So – what is the bridal trend for 2027?
(If you’re a bride-to-be – get ready to take notes!)
Well, in three words we’d describe the looks for the different styles of wedding dresses that we’re going to be seeing in both classic country church ceremonies, or sandy sun-soaked destination weddings as:
Bold
Sculptural
Romantic
And we think it’s that “daring to be different” idea that so many of our brides are looking for in their perfect wedding dress that makes these styles so perfect.
So we’ve got bridal separates, peplum corsetry, cateye necklines, structural elements, dynamic details like detachable gloves and capes and bubble hems.
I think it is worth noting, though, that some of these styles and features we absolutely do already see (and we’ve quite a lot of dresses in our bridal collection that offer what we saw on the catwalk this year).
But, as is the nature of trends, you’re going to see a lot more of this from lots of different designers on your Pinterest feed, on TikTok, and right here on our Midnight Elegance Instagram too.
Here’s our 4 favourite wedding dress trends for 2027:
1) Wedding dresses made of separate tops and bottoms
Perfect for a little mix-and-match.
This trend is seeing things like lace tops paired with flowing skirts or sleek and slinky bodysuits matched with elegant trousers. This sort of style would definitely suit someone looking for a distinctive, non-traditional look especially if the “traditional” wedding dress idea isn’t for you.

2) Wedding dress with peplum corset
Peplum corsets have a hanging frill or flounce at the waist. It’s such a flattering look and particularly suits hourglass figures. This is a look that’s a bit of a throwback to the 90s (so given that many of our brides are 90s babies, this might hit the spot!) and is featuring more and more in high street stores, as well as on the red carpet.
We’re so excited to have this on order – arriving in our bridal boutique soon.

3) Cateye neckline wedding dress
Couture chic at its finest – a cateye neckline is a stunning detail for a wedding dress. It’s a sculpted look (so could easily have fit in number 4 below) but the winged shape across the bust almost gives a soft edge which makes this neckline so distinctive. We like how this neckline can be subtle or bold depending on the style or the designer, and it means that you’re going to be able to find a look that works for your own personal style as well as your shape.
We’ve got dresses with a cateye neckline on order and arriving in our boutique soon. If this is something you want to consider for your late 2026 or 2027 wedding, we’d love for you to try this on! Book your appointment today to avoid disappointment.

4) Structured wedding dress (like basque waists)
Basque waists in particular really stood out to us as a structural feature of wedding dresses for 2027. And yes, we’ve seen basque before in places. It’s a bit of a timeless classic and there’s a good reason for that: these silhouettes are designed to elongate and flatter, which makes them the perfect style for lots of different brides (but we think our curvy brides will love this).
We’ve got dresses with a basque waist on order – arriving in our boutique soon, so if this is something you want to consider for your late 2026 or 2027 wedding, do get in touch to arrange your wedding dress appointment.

Whatever your personal style or your ideas for your wedding, if you love being “on trend” or want to be seen in something truly stylish, daring, and different that makes people say “wow, did you see her wedding look”, then these wedding dress trends for 2027 brides are wedding dress styles that you must try on!
